News Gathering (SNG) is a new generation of news
gathering and transmission system developed in mid
1990s. It is now widely used in relaying major news
events, breaking news, live sports or special events,
as well as for the transmission of television news
in rural and remote areas.
To meet the transmission needs of today's broadcast
industry, AsiaSat offers flexible ad hoc or regular
occasional transmission services to television broadcasters,
wholesale news agencies and video services providers
for real time broadcast of news, features and sports
events. The Athens Olympic Games, Euro 2004 and the Asian Cup were the latest sports events broadcasting via AsiaSat across the Asia Pacific region.
