William Wade
President and Chief Executive Officer

William Wade was appointed as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company on 1 August 2010. Prior to assuming his role as Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Wade had served as AsiaSat’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer for 16 years.

Mr. Wade has over 26 years' experience in the satellite and cable television industry. Prior to joining AsiaSat in April 1994, he was with Hutchison Whampoa, as Director of Business Development for Pan Asian Systems, and was in charge of all sales and regional operations. Mr. Wade had also served as Executive Director for Echosphere International (Echostar), where he established Echosphere's permanent Asian operations in Singapore while managing the company's activities in Asia and the Middle East.

He speaks Mandarin and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Communications from the University of Utah and a Master of International Management degree from Thunderbird (the Global School of International Management).

Philip Balaam
Vice President, Business Development

Philip Balaam, Vice President, Business Development, is responsible for identifying and driving new business development and accelerating the strategic planning for the Company’s growth in businesses and services. He possesses over 21 years of experience in the satellite industry. Prior to joining AsiaSat in April 2011, he was the Sales and Marketing Director - Asia Pacific of Arianespace Asean Office in Singapore. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University, USA, an MBA degree from the Open University of UK and a B.Sc degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the University of Southampton, England.

Catherine Chang
General Counsel

Catherine Chang, General Counsel, joined AsiaSat in 1994 and established the legal department to manage the legal affairs of the Company. Prior to joining AsiaSat, she was a solicitor at Ebsworth & Ebsworth, an Australian law firm. She graduated from the University of New South Wales, Australia, with a Bachelor's degree in Law and a Bachelor's degree in Commerce, majoring in Accountancy.

Sabrina Cubbon
Vice President, Sales and Marketing

Sabrina Cubbon, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, is responsible for sales and marketing, business development, corporate affairs and market research. She has over 26 years of marketing experience in the telecommunications industry. Prior to joining AsiaSat in August 1992, she was employed by Case Communications between 1987 and 1992 as Regional Manager Asia-Pacific responsible for the sales and marketing activities to multinational clients. She graduated from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom, with a Master's Degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering, specialised in cryptography.

Roger Tong
Vice President, Engineering and Operations

Roger Tong, Vice President, Engineering and Operations. On 1 August 2011, the Engineering and Operations Departments were merged into one technical department and Mr. Tong assumes managerial responsibilities for the combined group. He has over 23 years' experience in the satellite and telecommunications industry and has worked in Canada, Mainland China and Hong Kong. Mr. Tong has held various senior management positions at COM DEV International, Allen Telecom Corporation and Mark IV Industries. Prior to joining AsiaSat in March 2008, Mr. Tong was the Technical Consultant to Telesat Canada where he was responsible for various satellite programmes. Mr. Tong holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering and a Master's degree in Engineering from the McMaster University, Canada and a MBA degree from the Wilfrid Laurier University in Canada.

Sue Yeung
Vice President, Finance and
   Chief Financial Officer

Sue Yeung, Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer, and the Secretary of the Company. She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. She has held various senior financial positions in both multinational companies and Hong Kong listed company. Prior to joining AsiaSat in October 2006, she was the Regional Chief Financial Officer of Pearson Education Asia Limited with the overall responsibilities of its Asia Operations. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from London University and is a fellow member of Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Zhang Hai Ming
Vice President, China

Zhang Hai Ming, Vice President, China, is responsible for the Company's marketing, sales and customer relations activities in the Mainland China market. He has over 25 years' experience in the satellite industry in various management positions, covering areas in business development, sales, marketing and operations. Prior to joining AsiaSat in August 2008, he was the Deputy Managing Director of China Mobile Broadcasting Satellite Limited, Hong Kong. He graduated from Beijing Institute of Foreign Trade (now renamed Beijing University of International Business and Economics) and obtained a Master of International Management Degree from the American Graduate School of International Management.
